We gather the public picture
We compare source trails from Checkatrade, TrustATrader, MyBuilder and RatedPeople, and public business data where it is available.
We pull every review, listing and credential for working tradespeople across the United Kingdom — from Checkatrade, TrustATrader, MyBuilder and RatedPeople — and cross-check the evidence before you do.
Public reviews and trader listings pulled from named source platforms.
We show public evidence and source trails; we do not promise workmanship.
Section 02 · Describe the job
Natural language works better than filter chips for unusual jobs. Describe the scope, the postcode, any constraints — we search across public reviews and return traders with matching specialism, location, and visible trust evidence. No ads. No paid placement.
How it works
We compare source trails from Checkatrade, TrustATrader, MyBuilder and RatedPeople, and public business data where it is available.
If the evidence is thin, stale, or missing, the page says so rather than hiding the gap behind a score.
Shortlist the traders with the clearest public record, then verify the details directly before hiring.
Section 03 · The qualifying profile
A tradesperson passes our qualifying bar only if all five of these hold. It's a deliberately hard standard — which is why most of the 68k tradespeople we track do not pass it. The ones who do are the ones you want.
A stronger public record leaves a trail across named platforms and directories. We compare whether the same business appears consistently: phone, address, listing details, and review evidence.
One source can be thin or noisy. The bar here is a hundred imported public reviews, averaging 4.0 or better, across named review platforms.
Gas Safe. NICEIC. FENSA. FMB. Companies House. When a registry-backed check exists, we show the named source and link to the record.
Architects know their builders. Plumbers know their electricians. Three independent endorsements from other verified trades make a profile much harder to fake.
The final trust signal is still practical: a visible phone number gives homeowners a direct route to verify the trader before hiring.
